Dear Nephew
I am ashamed to think that I have not written before but If I would
write every time I spoke about it I would write pretty often...(illegible)...time
that it does seem as if I had no time to write. We are making a lot
of butter now and going to market takes up so much time. I do all
the work myself have to help to do all my sewing & milking myself.
I often do not know what to do first there seems
so many things to do. So you now excuse me for not writing before.
It was to bad that I did not try harder but I am sure we were glad
to hear from you & to see that you could forgive us for not
waiting.
We received your papers all right. We have not heard from Roberts
in over a year.
We hear from Joseph once in a while. They were all well the last
time we heard but Uncle James were having quite a sick time. Do
not expect Uncle to live long. Joe lives about sixty miles from
us & Uncle's about
seventy but we are talking of going down this fall. Oliver is going
if I cannot.
Today is Thompsons birthday. He is three years old today. He is
getting to be a big boy.
Edna is going to school all the time. She went up to Iona Station
after the mail Saturday alone. She got herself some gum & led
pencil & me some thread. She thinks she doen something wonderfull.
It is about two miles. Major the dog went with her. We live about
twelve miles from St. Thomas. We go to market there.
So you see it is not far from where the young man came from that
is working in same place with you. We would like it very much if
you could all come out to spend Christmas with us. I will have to
close for this time. Remember me ato your mother and sisters.
Oliver & Mary both send love to sister Mary & family. Write
soon & tell us that some of you are comig to spend Christmas
with us.
Good bye
Write soon
