Dear Cousin in response to your
kind and welcome letter hoping you will excuse me for been so long
of writing but it was your own fault as you did not put the same
address in the Letter as you did on the photograoh so I waited to
Aunt Jane wrote but I am nothing the wiser of then. Hoping you's
are all well and that Aunt has got better by
the time this reaches you. Aunt Jane said in her letter that she
had gone back to hospital. Hoping she wont have to go back again.
This leave us all in good health but very busy at the harvest which
is not so good as usual. Thanking you very much for the photograph
you sent. My Father says she stands the times fair. She is very like
Grandmother. Both Ellen and me knew her from Grandmother before we
opened the letter. I see by your letter that you have got married.
I wish you much
joy and prosperity. Hoping you will send your wifes photo next time
but you did not tell me her name eather. Your sisters will be lonsome
for a while to they take they Notion themselves. Aunt Jane is long
of getting her fellow. She said in the last letter she was going
to come home but she is all talking about coming. You say New York
gals don't like to work. There is plenty here of the same notion
but if you don't work you wont have much of anything.
I see in the
papers that there is great heat in New York. Hoping you's all have
escaped it. Was very warm here about 10 days ago but there was
a great thunder storm on the 4th and since that there was alot of
rain and has got cold since. I think I have no more to say at present.
Hoping you will excuse me for being so long of answering your letter
and that yous are enjoying good health. Mother & Father & John
joins me in send their love to yous. Tell them to send their pictures
some time. I remain your affectionate cousin Annie J Howe
Goodbye Write soon. Don't forget to
