...They are all well in Uncle Thompsons. Ellens fellow is in Scotland now. He is away about six week and she is waiting every day to get a letter to go to him. Thompson has a housekeeper hired. Is Aunt Jane single yet? There was no word from her this long time. I think it is about 3 months. Uncle Thompson wonders she does not write. It is a year or more since there was any word from Canada. Nor they woods (?) had none this long time from Uncle Joe.

We hope you got your situation you were talking about. We were glad to hear of you getting along so well but there is nothing brings one forward with good conduct. You might tell your mother that her Aunt Bessie down a trillock was very ill this summer but she is about again. There is none of them got married. Only Davis and he has it over him twice. I am sure you heard of him been married to Margret Moore...
